Description

Summary: Manufacturing Engineering Intern works with engineers and technicians who plan, design, and support manufacturing processes & equipment for a production facility.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assigned to small projects or discreet tasks within functional discipline.
Receives substantial guidance and direction from others.
Communicates professionally with leadership, teammates and operations personnel using appropriate technical language and descriptions.
Still learning the fundamentals of the discipline and role.
Has limited experience within discipline.
Understands key concepts in their discipline.
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
Uses basic metrology tools to measure and analyze parts.
Prepares product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Uses basic hand tools to maintain and build equipment.
Designs and manufactures elements of mechanical and electromechanical systems.
Preferred, but not required: Experience with SolidWorks, experience with programming and use of manual or CNC 3-axis mills, experience with use of manual or CNC lathe, experience with sheet metal design & fabrication, experience with MIG & TIG welding.

Education and Experience
Open to active students in technical school or pursuing relevant technical degrees and/or to those with technical background and interests.
